Estée Lauder Head Office Artwork and RAP Plan

Most Aboriginal clans and customs are centred around the Matriarchy.

The feminine divine, the creator of life, peacemaker, food-finder, child-raiser and camp-maker. Without the feminine energy within a clan there is no sense of balance, and balance is key for Caring for Ngura (Country). It is the feminine balance that creates the most delicate state of sustainability and joy to Ngura and therefore to that Country's People.

These are her gifts.

This piece of artwork symbolises the beginning of the journey Estée Lauder is embarking on in their Reconciliation Action Plan. Represented by the company’s corporate trademark blue, the lines of this journey are quite small but are bold and unique and mark this exciting step into Aboriginal Cultural framework.   The other lines mark the journey of women. Using tonal skin colours to reference woman but also as another key connection point with Estée Lauder’s core business pillar of cosmetics something that is synonymous with skin.   These individual journeys are not necessarily linear, some are slightly disjointed, and others perfect. This has been designed to reflect the real lives of a modern woman in todays society. I am excited to create this inaugural work for Estée Lauder and look forward to updating this work as their journey into Reconciliation continues.
